Abbye Churchill is a multi-disciplinary artist and author who works with textiles, plants, food, and community.

Her visual work has been exhibited internationally at galleries in New York, Paris, and Chicago. As a curator and programmer, she has organized exhibitions and programming in conjunction with MoMA, NADA Miami, and Phaidon Press where she was the Director of Cultural Programming. After receiving her MFA in Fiber & Material Studies from School of the Art Institute of Chicago, she founded and served as the co-director of the artist-run gallery space and bookstore Public Access in Chicago, IL

With a background in publishing, Churchill was the Editorial Director of Wilder magazine and previous editor of Tokion magazine. Her writing has appeared in publications such as The New York Times, Vogue, Food + Wine, Conde Nast Traveller and W. Her first book, A Wilder Life, co-written with Celestine Maddy (2016) was featured in the New York Times Review of Books “Best of Summer 2016" and second book, The Gardens of Eden: New Residential Garden Concepts & Architecture for a Greener Planet was published by Gestalten in spring 2020. Additionally, she has helped give voice to institutions like the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Ford Foundation, The Armory Show, Uniqlo, Levi’s, Tiffany & Co., Arper, Twin Palms Press and many others.

Her studio is currently based in Brooklyn, NY where she is also the co-founder and a creative director with the women-led content studio Donna Collective.
